Katavi National Park




The photograph in the background of the entire website shows the Katisunga Mbuga, a huge floodplain in the middle of Katavi National Park. The lines through the tall grass mark the paths of wild animals on their daily movements to water and forage. The shrubs only grow on termite mounds to avoid the high groundwater level.
We chose this photo because clouds usually are used as a metapher for bad times to come. This is what we fear. But clouds also bring the rain and therefore our fear will be turned into joy when we see the green pastures of Katavi-Rukwa ecosystem remain for future generations of people and wild animals ...
